We have made lots and lots of changes to our menus over this school year. The motivation for these changes were the planting and harvesting of Bolich's school gardens; the arrival of Chef Bill and his awesome ideas for creating new and healthy menu alternatives; and the new USDA meal regulations that we are implementing. Along with all of these wonderful changes is a challenge to our students to try new menu items and have a positive attitude when they enter the lunchroom. We have been so proud of the student body as we navigate this path. Some of those changes were difficult, for instance, the elimination of the slush program. Students and staff alike embraced the beautiful new salad bar along with all the very hip and healthy offerings that Chef Bill has created throughout this year. Thank you as we look forward to next year!
We serve breakfast from 7:25 am to 7:45 am each morning. Studies confirm that students who eat breakfast perform better in school. Students who ate breakfast scored significantly higher on standarized achievement tests. Other research confirms that students who eat nutritious morning meals generally work faster, behave better, are more creative and make fewer mistakes than breakfast skippers.
School breakfast provides needed time in which students can develop their social skills outside the structured setting of the classroom. The National School Breakfast Program is a federally funded program available to all children.
All are welcome!
Another application is not necessary to complete to receive meal benefits for breakfast. |

We have added a Salad Bar Lunch Option at Roberts. The Salad Bar lunch for students consists of a large boat of salad with other vegetable choices, two (2) cheesefilled breadsticks, a fruit choice, soup as a bonus item and a choice of milk. ....all for $3.00. Check it out!!
We strive to provide nutritious, student friendly and affordable meals at each school. Our daily lunch must include five components: a protein source, bread, a vegetable, a fruit and eight ounces of milk. Choices of entrees are available each day. There is a variety of vegetables, fruits and cold milks to choose from.
We are serving breakfast from 7:25 am to 7:45 am each morning. The School Breakfast program provides an excellent opportunity for students to start the day with a healthy morning meal. Many studies show that children who do eat breakfast every day learn better, behave better and perform more effectively than children who do not eat breakfast. A school breakfast is made of at least 3, but not more than 4 meal components which are defined as 1 serving of fruit or juice, 1 serving of milk, 1 oz meat/meat alternate, 1 grain/bread. Some combination foods count as more than one component (Breakfast Pizza). Please don't be a breakfast skipper.

We have removed the Calorie and Carbohydrate due to discrepencies in the program. For the safety of the students we have a revised menu program. Each building school nurse will have the calorie and carbohydrate for each month's menu.
We are pleased to announce that we now have breakfast programs at ALL of our schools in Cuyahoga Falls. It is our hope that you will take advantage of this important mealtime because research has shown that children perform better in school; have better attendance and score higher of tests if they have had breakfast. There are many reasons to participate in this early morning program. An extended bus ride may leave little time to eat in the morning at home. Parents who need to work early can rest assured that their children are having a kid-friendly, well balanced breakfast .
Regarding the free and reduced lunch applications families only need to fill out one application and it will serve fro bothe the breakfast and lunch program.
We hope that your children enjoy their meal programs both breakfast and lunch and we look forward to serving you. |
